I Received a Postcard in the Mail, What Does it Mean?
On the front of postcard in red writing, you can find the words:
Certificate of Registration: this is the proof of the business name registration
Annual Report/Renewal Notice: this is the renewal notice
Delinquency Notice: this is the late renewal or delinquency notice
Expiration Notice: this is the expiration notice
On the back side of the postcard you will find instructions on what you can do to resolve the postcard.
When a business first registers with our office we mail the registered agent a postcard notice stating that business name is registered. One year from the anniversary date of the business (3 years for a DBA) we mail out a renewal notice in the form of a postcard to the registered agent. If the business fails to renew in a timely manner we will mail a delinquency postcard to the registered agent. If the business fails to respond to that notice we mail an expiration postcard to the registered agent, principal business address, and one of the business's principals.
