The Division has implemented a new UCC/CFS online filing system.  In addition to an enhanced UCC filing experience, the new system will also accept the filing of CFS documents online.

The purpose of the Central Filing System (CFS) is to make available information that allows commission merchants, selling agents or buyers to identify farm products that are subject to a security interest in Utah.

You are always encouraged to consult an attorney to ensure appropriate consideration of all the legal implications of your choice of entity and filing. We stress that this filing website is not intended to substitute nor replace the advice of legal counsel.

Frequently Asked Questions
    $12.00 per filing. You can send it by mail or bring it in person to 160 East 300 South, P.O. Box number 146705 Salt Lake City UT 84114-6705. We also accept filings by fax at 801-530-6438. You may use our cover letter to authorize our office to charge your credit card. We do not accept filings by email.
    Please make checks payable to the State of Utah. We accept Visa, MasterCard, or American Express (Please list the expiration date, CVV code, and zip code). You may pay in person, by mail, or fax. You may use our cover letter to authorize our office to charge your credit card.

    On a CFS 1 and a CFS-3 Amendment or Continuation all debtors associated with the lien must sign. On a CFS-3 Termination no signature is required. For CFS-3 Contuations or Amendments please use the CFS-3 Authorized Signatures form if there are multiple debtors.
    CFS filing is a listing of information to identify farm products that are subject to a security interest in Utah. A UCC filing perfects the lien.
    All forms submitted must be typed or computer generated. All individuals listed as a "debtor" are required to submit a complete address & their social security number; all organizations listed as a "debtor" are required to submit a complete address & tax ID number. All debtors listed must sign, authorize or authenticate the CFS-1. All secured parties must list a name & complete address. You must specify collateral & list the Utah County where the product is produced; the description & crop year fields are optional. See CFS-1 instructions on how to fill out the form.

    You must list specific farm products, (ex: cattle & calves, hay, wool etc.), the county in Utah where the product will be produced, a description of the product & the crop year. The description & crop year are optional.
    We send the evidence (acknowledgement) of filing to the secured party listed, unless otherwise stated on form.
    CFS filings currently will not be certified.
