Step 1: Log in using your UtahID

Step 2: Select “Formations & Registrations” from the left side menu

Step 3: Select Domestic Formations

Step 4: Select Domestic General Partnership from the drop-down list

You can renew online .

Step 1: Log in using your UtahID

Step 2: Select “Annual Report/Renewal” from the left side menu

Step 3: Select either Annual Report with changes or Annual Report without changes

You can make changes by filling out the Registration Information Change Form .

After completing the form you can submit online via the “Submit a Paper Filing” option (please refer to the above instructions in the blue column for All Other Filing Types).

You can not amend, however, you can file a Registration Information Change Form to make changes to the General Partnership. After completing the form, you can submit online via the “Submit a Paper Filing” option (please refer to the above instructions in the blue column for All Other Filing Types).

You can not merge a General Partnership into another entity or merge another entity into a General Partnership.

You can not convert a General Partnership to another entity type or convert another entity to become a General Partnership.

• To change from a General Partnership to another entity type, you will need to first cancel the General Partnership by filling out the Cancellation of a General Partnership  and then register the new entity type as a new entity.
• To change an entity to a General Partnership, you will need to cancel/dissolve/terminate/withdraw that entity and then register as a new General Partnership. After the registered entity is canceled/dissolved/terminated/withdrawn, you can register the new entity type online .

You can cancel by completing the Cancellation of a General Partnership .

After completing the form, you can submit online via the “Submit a Paper Filing” option (please refer to the above instructions in the blue column for All Other Filing Types).

Note: If the General Partnership is expired, a cancellation can not be filed.

You can view the principals online by doing a Business Entity Records Search .

• Click on Search Business Entity Records.
• Search by entity or principal.
  • To search by entity, enter either the entity name or the entity number.
  • To search by principal, enter the Principal Name or Registered Agent Name. Searching by principal name or registered agent name will yield a list of all entities associated with that principal or registered agent's name. Click on the name of the entity to view its details.

Note: If you prefer not to view the principals online, please contact our office for that information.

You can find out if the name you want to use is available online by doing a Name Availability search.

You can also conduct a Business Entity Records Search to view other registered businesses that may have similar names to the one you wish to use.

You may also contact our office to verify that the name you want to use is available.

Please note that although a name may appear to be available, nothing is final until the Division of Corporations and Commercial Code approves the business filing.

You can not reinstate. You will need to register as a new entity which can be done online .
